Today we’re thrilled to introduce Weebly for iPad, the newest member of the family and second most requested feature of all time! We’ve completely re-imagined Weebly for tablet, bringing the drag and drop experience to life in a way you’ve never seen before with the ability to both create and edit a website on the iPad. It’s been a huge technical challenge to make every site ever created with Weebly editable on iPad, so while we’ve tested extensively, we want to hear your feedback on the experience as we continue to polish things in the coming weeks.
It’s more important than ever that your website, online store or blog looks amazing for every visitor on every device, so we’re extra excited for today’s launch of Squared and Bradley, our first two fully responsive themes! So whether it’s a phone, tablet, television, wearable... or whatever might come next, your site is going to look great with these new themes.
Please note: All sites on Weebly already have a mobile optimized view, but the reason these new responsive themes are special is because they keep the design style consistent between the web and mobile views.
A truly diverse theme, Squared bundles a variety of strong components into a fully responsive package that translates your content beautifully on any screen. Strong on image display, product elements and blogging, Squared offers an array of impressive new design features for your site.
Well it’s about time blogging got some love! From new commenting systems to post scheduling and advanced SEO options, we’ve added a new batch of powerful blogging features guaranteed to improve your blogging experience. These awesome features are available for all plans.
You can now schedule blog posts through the Post Options interface. We have a brand new How’d They Do That? video that demonstrates just how easy it is to schedule posts.

With summer at an end it’s time for our first ever intern class to pack up and leave. As this remarkably talented group scatters back across the country to their respective schools we’d like to give a peek inside life at Weebly through their eyes (we’re going to miss you guys!).
From Twitter embeds to Vimeo multimedia there’s an entire ecosystem of tools that can serve as powerful (and free) add ons to your website, online store or blog. Lets take a look at a few of our favorite services that only take a few minutes to setup and implement with the embed code element.
While the recent Google Apps for Business integration has helped many of you promote your domain and manage your Weebly website with branded email in one easy location, we want to make sure you’re enjoying one of our favorite Google Apps email features: branded email on your mobile device.
PC Magazine just awarded Weebly the Editors’ Choice award as the top rated site builder. We’re honored to receive such positive recognition, and wanted to share the good news with you! Without all your awesome feedback, beta testing, and community support, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
To celebrate we’d like to give something back to the community that made it all possible. The first 10 people to share this on Twitter (with an @weebly) will receive a free year of Weebly Pro.
We have a ton of new features currently in development so stay tuned for more big updates!
The membership creation and management experience you’ve been waiting for is finally ready for testing and feedback with today’s release of Membership Beta.
Try out the new membership features at beta4.weebly.com using your normal login credentials. You need a Pro or Business plan to access the Membership Beta toolset and will need to publish your site at least once while logged into the Beta for everything to work properly.
Many of you have asked about the benefits of SSL and whether it’s necessary for your website, blog or online store, so we’d like to shed some light on SSL and it’s value for both security and trust online.
SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer and is used to encrypt information transferred across the Internet. This encryption protects your information from getting intercepted by unwelcome eavesdroppers (ever wonder who might be sniffing your data on the coffee shop public wifi?) and is enabled through an SSL certificate that allows visitors to navigate a website over a secure connection.
But an SSL certificate can do more than just data encryption, it also serves as a powerful trust signal for your visitors, which can help increase sales, form submissions, or whatever it is you need your website to do.
