Help Test New Column Behavior in Beta

More Information About Columns Beta

The new columns experience was designed to improve column generation and make it easier and more intuitive to create multi-column layouts for your site, store or blog.

There are three big changes you’ll notice in Columns Beta.

1. The columns element has been removed. You can now generate columns automatically by simply dragging an element to the left or right of an existing element.

2. We added a new element called spacer. Spacer allows you to create an empty column or extra vertical space. Drag spacer into position to introduce space between other elements. Spacer should make it easy to introduce and control the negative space between your elements.

3. Any changes made on Columns Beta will translate to your live site. Elements will work the same between the beta and non-beta editors with a few minor exceptions.

The spacer element will be automatically added into any empty columns you’ve placed on your site when you login to Columns Beta.
If you use the spacer element in Columns Beta and log back into non-beta Weebly the spacer elements will convert into blank elements. The blank elements will still function as intended.

Nice idea... but what was wrong with the columns element? It does exactly the same thing - why not just introduce the spacer element and leave the rest alone?

Guys, please don't take this to heart too much, I love what you do - but we've got some things that have been outstanding for a while now that we'd love introduced to Weebly... namely

• Switching the e-Commerce store to the designer platform
• Introducing the membership log in area
• Creating vertical dividers
• Table elements

........the list goes on. Like I say, I don't want to put a downer on new design elements Weebly introduce and I'm sure you're working away on these things - but could we priotise certain things a little?

Yeah I agree. This is a playing around feature. When your ecommerce tool does not even allow the ability to take payment by bank deposit.

Need to focus on priorities.

I agree with all of you.
The previous columns didn't need changing from my point of view.
This little detail is nothing compared to the real needs that we want fulfilled from Weebly.

If you really want some changes done, I suggest you add a poll or something to ask us website creators what we could like added then focus on what we want done.

I like the way you work and I like your ideas. But I think you should be a bit more aware of our wants and needs. It could really pay of for everyone.

What is WEEBLY's turn-around time , from comment to implementation? Do we matter?

I think that's a bit inappropriate. Weebly does get it right, even if it takes a while - I am yet to come across something that annoys me - I agree that things like table elements could be introduced, but you can find them out on the web and bring them in as html etc. I would personally love the ability to put borders around elements and one day maybe a button library etc, but I'm not complaining because I can Google one up and find it pretty quickly when I need it.

As far as I'm concerned Weebly is the best and most user friendly web editor around - I've tried quite a few and I have always come back here.

Well, they work incredibly hard at Weebly. They must have had big demand for these features. Besides, they're working on a lot of what you mentioned. Stephen mentioned that this is a playing around feature. It is, not a big deal. I bet it wasn't even so hard to do. Also, columns meant dragging a new element into the mess. I agree with Peter Heap, JT, Adam, Bj, and all the rest. Jt,

I agree whit you David, and I wanted to add that they could implement more language support - I mean that more text and words could be translated to our own language by ourselves, my problem is when I use search app, it uses English instead Serbian, I tried to find a way to change it to Serbian, but I didn't find it... And they could implement BETTER FORUM...

I think the new column element works well, it seems a bit smoother to use than the older version but I agree that there wasn't really much of a need to improve it.
I do like the spacer, great to have. The reason I want a spacer like is so I can use it with my custom image that I have to use as a vertical divider on my sites (which doesn't look 100% professional) and so as David says... I am still desperate to see some of the more critical updates such as vertical dividers (this will improve all my websites immediately) and membership login areas.
That said, pleased to see another update even if it's not one of the big ones we are waiting for. Thanks for working to improve things, look forward to more soon.

Yeah, I (unfortunately) echo the comments above. The membership area is likely something that takes much time to build because you simply have so many Weebly users with so many website at stake, but the Weebly Education Platform has had membership features for a very long time, so you can't say you haven't already built some (or all) of the programming required to bring this to fruition.

Individual passwords for individual pages...

I can't help but wonder.....why does Weebly have a page designated for FEATURE REQUESTS if they are not worked on in order of customer demand.

I love you guys.....but this wasn't the excitement I was looking for in your post today.

I tend to agree...this is a very minor change that doesn't impact Weebly's functionality - it's more cosmetic/UI than anything else, and membership management is a feature that is much more worthwhile to build.

Member area idea: I think we would all agree that we would want multiple levels of membership. No limits on the amount of levels. The levels of membership would need to be free to any set price for membership. I am sure having that included in the pro account would be wonderful but more like wishful thinking. Your adding new features like the ecommerce that cost $ to use, so here is a novel idea. Charge $49 per year for the multi member area add on...but only take that fee out of the first dollars in sales. If the site owner has a member area that is free or they never sell a paid member..they do not lose out. Use paypal or stripe! Focus all your efforts on this feature...Wordpress is getting easier and has member areas free....so good luck in listening to your customers. I love the weebly sitebuilder, think templates are sooooo needed along with the member areas. With the fifty plus new employees I would hope you could roll this out very quick. When do you plan to roll this out? Do large companies plan or forecast anymore? You say your working on it, but some kind of timeline or feedback while your developing it would sure be a step in the right direction.

I agree with Cabral. All that would need to happen to resolve this is to be able to hightlight all elements, then click the move/copy button or drag to another location on the same page.

Please don't make this change if we can't move or copy the whole column content - I use this constantly on one of my websites that has similar events and need to include an Event heading, photo. map, details - what a nightmare if we are going backwards!!!!

I use Squarespace in addition to Weebly for clients and have to mention that for clients who may be easily frustrated or less tech-savvy I prefer Weebly's column element approach to Squarespace's Layout Engine (which the new Weebly Columns feels very similar to). It just feels more straight-forward and easy to drag out a column element and pick how many columns it should have. Sometimes simpler and less flashy is better, even if in some situations it may require more steps to complete a task.

Cabral brings up a good point, too. It's been handy to be able to copy entire column elements (with content) between pages. If that's lost in the new Columns then that would be a step backward.

ps — on Safari 6.1.2 this form's submit button is hidden from view.

Well said - I also find that an invaluable facility.

I love Weebly but I hate the way their devs ignore what their customers really need and want and feel in favour of introducing silly unasked for so called improvements that end up being backward steps that the team will never admit too.

Of course 'they' know better than we do that the customer is never right and that taking time to fix bugs and add essential but boring features is just a pain in the you know what and doesn't look good on their CVs when moving on to new jobs.

Oooh, very true. I sometimes use the current column element to copy a whole section of content to another page. The would be lost if you took out the columns too.

The new spacer tool is pretty nifty, just a little confusing to work at first. I would suggest keep both the column tool and spacer tool...

Hey everybody,

I agree with the observations above. The "batch" move or delete by using the "old" column element is a very helpful especially if we have to move a lot of elements around. If that feature is no longer available, then if users want to move a lot of elements across to other pages, they would have to do this one element at a time which is painful.

Another design impact is that you can no longer drag and drop any elements "directly" below an element used as a column.

For example, if I created 3 columns by dragging and dropping different elements next to each other, and if one of the element content is much taller than the content on the other 2 columns, I can't stack more content directly below the 2 shorter elements to fill in the space. So in effect, there will be a blank area below?

If this was the case, then the new system actually reduces the flexibility that the "old" column element had.

OK. If you've decided to give a new touch to Column element.

I would be better if you try to introduce new elements like:

=> Comment Box to put on anywhere

=>Table element - Users should be able to have background colors
Vertical divider

=> Membership area - Visitors of the website should be able to register and log in on example.com

=> Classified Listing website

If you want to put comments anywhere, just sign up for a www.disqus.com account, use the embed code, and paste the code you get from Disqus to have a comment box anywhere on your site!

Any there's no reason for Weebly to put resources to develop and recreate a classified listing website engine when there are already the eBay and Craigslist giants out there...

A few reasons...

A lot of people are interested in creating some sort of membership site, where users pay to gain access to "premium" products. This can be used in selling educational classes and developing access to a paid curriculum, paid access to a stock imagery or vector art "marketplace", or anything your entrepreneur mind can think of that would bring people some value in return for a nominal membership fee.

Also, with regards to eCommerce (I'm not sure if this is already a working feature) a website visitor would like a place to login and track their orders and previous orders.

Reason they have not worked on member areas is because eCommerce is the focus...it is overpriced and I refuse to pay $20 per month for sales I may be getting. I would prefer some split percentage with a cap, but they want your $20 regardless of how many sales you have(not fair pricing). Weebly is priced right with pro accounts and I hope they offer the members area at no additional cost. The pro accounts have gone up over 1000 percent because you once got 10 pro sites in one account! Having a member area is one thing, but having multiple member areas is the real power we need and I have a feeling that you will have to pay for this upgrade. Wix already offers it and is ahead of weebly. Wordpress now has sites with pagebuilders and is light years ahead of weebly. Not sure how long weebly will be around if they take so long to develop ideas that customers want the most. I think this new feature is nice, but should not be the focus. So many companies do not listen to their customers and those are the companies that fail and go out of business.

A nice idea with Spacer, but leave Columns intact. It's best for splitting exactly half, or in five equal parts. Spacer does a good job, but I don't see why you will remove Columns.

I think I love this feature. It makes the web builder so much smoother and easier to use. From now on, I can create a beautiful page so much faster, and of course smoother.

It's a shame people are muddying the comments with other feature requests and attacks on Weebly's team. The point is to talk about the merits and implementation of the proposed new Columns feature. Everything else dilutes and devalues the discussion. What is this, YouTube? We can do better. For our voices to be heard, please keep comments succinct and on-target.

The new Columns definite feels like an attempt to make the Weebly editor more "cool" but it has significant drawbacks as stated in other comments.

One thing I'll add is that dragging elements to invisible targets to create a column that is not there yet takes a conceptual understanding that the average non-techy client (in my experience) often doesn't have. This increases the learning curve for using Weebly, and provides dubious benefit.

There is a reason people make comments regarding new features! They just do not happen fast enough and other companies are offering more features! I would take Weebly with new features over the rest, but some of the changes in the last year just make me say...hmmmm! I am sure you earned some bonus points with the Weebly blog watchdogs, but not with many of the users of Weebly.

Weebly users have a right to voice their opinions here regarding this post or features they would like to see. I do not see any area where users can write ideas other than a voting feature that does not even have member areas listed and Weebly has admitted that that is the no 1 feature people want and they are working on it.

In my opinion Weebly went from an affordable value add company that speaks to all users from advanced to simple...to a pricier less value add that speaks to the simple users and has played some with designers, but has held back features and other great tools for the more advanced users! Users went from having ten pro accounts to one! Lots of change in the last couple years at Weebly and some good and some not so good.

I spoke to Weebly about the reason they eliminated the ten sites per acccount and they said that only a small percentage used them. Ok, so why not have it as an option for those who want it during the account set up? Its about the money! Once a company gets to a certain size, they forget their core values and distance themselves from the ones using their products.

Sticky features that have high customer retention like membership areas have been an after thought till now. Ecommerce is great, but I still think it has much room for improvement. Coupon codes are not offered to low end users and to restrict features for producers with less products is a total slap in the face to the old core value ad Weebly mojo.

Technology doubles every 6-9 months and if companies take two years to launch something...they are already left behind! I'm hoping that with the new increased staff and revenue coming in from pro accounts and ecommerce...weebly will make massive feature improvements and do a better job communicating to us.

Weebly reality show maybe? Looks like a fun place to work! They could make more money....if Duck Dynasty can do it...so can Weebly! Kirk let's hope we have both you and Spock on the show as it could be a sci fi / web / reality must see TV!!!

I really do not understand. Is this "improvement" means that I cannot copy the whole columns to the other page, in the "new version"?
People have right to say, it's backward step.
I just wonder, how about html/css code used to build this new feature. Mean, you used more code or you simplified this feature (mean less html code used).
I remember, some years ago, people screamed to Weebly team, to build "pure" div based "table element", instead of using tables inside of div elements.
I think the current version of tables is very stable and is well displayed by major browsers.
Weebly should think million times before, they are going to replace something that work correctly, even on tablets.
I am not going to use this beta. If Weebly force changes that are not stable, I will continue using older version of tables, in custom html mode.
Weebly have millions of users (congratulations!) but still need to learn, how to listen what customers really want. Customer feedback is always weakness for big companies.

I have many clients and trainees on Weebly, and I use Weebly every day, all day .... This new feature is very bad, and make Weebly worse.

Sorry for that, Weebly, I love you, I recommend you, but so many other features are waiting ahead.

And full foreign languages translation within the Live site too !! The editor is now 90% in French, and when we publish our site, it gets back in English (blog, forms and ecommerce features) ! Your tool is the only one I know that has an incomplete French translation (for years). What's the matter ? Why do you stop making things at the halfway ?

Hi,

The experience is more "freehand". You just add the elements you want without having to put a column element in and deciding how many columns you want. It takes a bit of getting used to but I think it'll be more creative!

The Spacer element is more elegant than using a Text element and then inserting several presses of the Enter key.

It doesn't address my major structuring problem which is how to present tabular information showing the same tabular layout in both the Desktop and Mobile views. I really would like a visual html table editor with options to format the colours!

Not having the column element is fine but we need a, say, 'box' element where we can drag and drop multiple elements and then copy this 'box' across pages. Then inside such a 'box' your new column building would work great.

I do like the fact I can create columns "on the fly" just by dragging elements over. I also like that I can choose the spacing between each individual column vs just the spacing for all the columns in the element. Also was able to create columns within columns like before.

But, not being able to move column element and all elements within that column element around on the page or even to another page as "one element" is not good. If I create a 3 column element with 9 or 10 elements within the columns and decide to move it down the page I DEFINITELY don't want to have to move each element one at a time and re-work the spacing layout etc...

Definitely like the spacer element. Much better than just a blank text element with returns used to create space.

The new experience of creating columns is really great. It works much more smoothly than the current Columns element. It also helps us create columns faster.

However, there are some cons of the new way to create columns: users can't copy/move the whole columns,
can't adjust space for the whole column element.

About Spacer, I don't think it's necessary since we can use Divider element instead. If we set the width of the Divider to None, it works just like Spacer. In my opinion, Divider element is even more flexible since we can customize its look in CSS and we can set the space above or below.

So to be honest, I don't think you should release the new column behavior unless you can fix the issues above. Spacer is absolutely unnecessary.

The spacer element is not exactly useless, because there is no longer a columns element with spaces to leave blank. Spaces are automatically added and removed as the elements beside each other are added and removed.

A lot, and I mean A LOT, of my site's functionality relies on the columns. I have whole CSS codes based on the columns. If you guys want to add something new that's fine, but please don't remove the columns. Thanks!

i liked the idea of the space so had a play but lost all the data on that page!! I can't seem to 'grab' the spacer to delete it, this page is now a bit of a disaster - sigh! using Chrome and had a login on issue too.

I would like to be able to move all the elements in the column together, which could be achieved by adding a group box element, which could be re-sized (by width, like the columns,) so that I can still use the sidebar that I have created, so I can copy all those elements together.

Please keep the default options of 2..3..4..5 columns. Also, please keep copying the columns and their contents to another page.

By default, the columns have always the same size. Couldn't it be possible to add an option for 1/3-2/3 sized columns?

I make my columns before adding information and have been for 5 years. Now I dont seem to be able to do this. I regret opting for beta test. Please let me know how to stop it.

Hi Zore! If you don't want to use the beta, simply log in at www.weebly.com to use the standard multi-column element.

This is really very nice. Every other WYSIWYG editor has this method of creating columns so naturally, Weebly is apparently continuing to pump out small updates that make them catch up faster while they are working on larger ones like members areas and such as other people want. :) Yes on this feature though. I don't understand how people find it hard to use- it's really very easy. What's so complex about dragging it left and right rather than up and down?

I don't find it hard to use, but it removes the ability to copy a whole column and move it. That is very important for sites with a lot of pages and columns.

Also guys the beta test is on its own web address. It is different from the actual weebly. so log out of the page with the beta test, go to weebly.com, log in, and you're on the non-beta server. :)

You can not move multiple elements that have been placed into a single "column" element. No improvement. NOT intuitive to use.

Nice effort, but please fix things that are broken. Like SKUs on eCommerce stores. They do not display on order forms. How are we suppose to pull products to fulfill an order??

I lose the ability to copy a column and move to a new page with this feature. For me that is a huge step backwards and will cost me a lot of time.

Agree with all of the above - especially - please do not remove the ability to move/copy a whole column element.
I've also found using 'Gallery' is helpful for creating columned images, as there's no option to change pixel size of images using the 'columns' feature. Although you lose the ability to add substantial text under each image, at least the images are of uniform size and look cleaner.
I know it's a sideline, but relevant to the other issues raised here. I've found the 'easiest' way to create a membership area is to create a subdomain and subwebsite using WIX and use the 'external link' function to link it back to your main website, and vice versa from WIX.
I hate to promote another website company as I love Weebly, (I have 40 pro sites with Weebly and do NOT want to migrate to another platform), but I have to say that introducing new features takes forever - I've been reading requests for a membership area for at least two years.
I've been with Weebly for five years, and at the time of joining, they really were the leaders. Now Weebly seems to be lagging behind other platforms in innovation and introducing new features. Sorry to have to say that, guys :(

As many have said....
The new spacer is nice, but essentially unnecessary.

We need, as per our responses to your requests about what we want/need. One of the three below would be great, two would be excellent, and three, sad to say, would be unbelievable.
• individual page passwords
• newsletter option
• scheduled blog articles
• etc.

A newsletter option would be divine not having to use another service to do that would bless most if not all my clients, scheduling and member areas would be stellar too - MUCH needed and still we continue to WAIT.

No, I would have to say this is not a good idea with the columns or space addition. Too much risk of the page getting all messy. If you could implement a way to reset or choose exactly how many pixels you wanted columns to be then having this drag and drop tool would be fine. But there is no way to refine and then your layout becomes all messy.
I would also agree if you wanted to copy or move elements in a column group then you would be disappointed at how the function now works.

And I would also like to be added to the huge list here of people who have decided to support your company by subscribing to yearly or bi-yearly contracts to make updates to the requests we are really asking for. The competition is catching up and when you want to build customer loyalty and expand, not listening to your customers is a sure way to lose the ones you have in the future.

Hi Adam. Has the feature request area been updated in the past year? I have submitted requests long ago and do not see them listed so I can vote on them. Also, there are requests still up that have been completed in some of Weebly's latest updates. I'm not confident in submitting requests to that page as it seems so out-of-date.

Why don't you add breadcrumbs in weebly blogs, is'int unfair the store page layout has breadcrumbs then the blog page layout does'nt. My javascript can't run breadcrumbs, i don't know what kind of code to use for weebly breadcrumbs.

I agree with many of the comments here. I ditched Wix for Weebly because they are more streamlined. But the lack of options has been annoying me for a while.

Weebly is a great site and I love it, however, they're like a new writer. Instead of moving forward and finishing the entire novel they're trying to create, they stagnant because they're obsessing over polishing chapter 1. That means everything else is neglected.

Weebly, please move forward! Please!!! You're a great site, but strive to be a awesome site.

Stop focusing on touching up the paint, and go for the guts. Stop being so slow with new construction tools. Give us better and MORE graphics control and options on our photographs. Give us more links into the social media buttons!!! Is anyone aware that there is such things as Goodreads, Pinterest, and Tumblr? What about deviantArt and all the rest?

Give your users a poll where we can write in stuff.

What will this do to columns on my many already existing pages? At my age (80) I do not have the time or energy to go back over everything to sort stuff out. If this is going to mess up everything I have done so far, I may just have to give up. The spacer sounds OK, but I am very nervous about the columns changes - I hope you can reassure me!! One thing I would like to see is an anchor link option - at the moment I am doing that for myself. I've enjoyed Weebly from quite a way back so I hope that techie-style 'upgrades' are not going to make things difficult for a very 'ordinary' user - that seems to be happening all over these days!!

Because my organization is a non profit and donations is part of my organizations survival, I would like to see a feature added where I could take donation from our website and directly deposited in the organizations bank account. This a major need.

I think you guys should add mobile software to edit our sites. I use my s4 more than my pc. Plus I would love to recline in my chair comfortably. I just think it's difficult trying to use the drag and drop feature with my device, or even focus on inserting a designer platform on the Weebly app. I'm sure more than half of us would just adore this ability. Thanks.

Ps. I think it didn't make a difference with the whole columns idea, but the tables would be nice. I agree with every one else. Try making the log in screen a bit more mobile compatible too. Keep up the great work.

I like the way the column feature works!. If it isn't broke don't fix it kinda thing.

I would love to see a vertical spacer, table elements and a way to tag my favorite themes (btw- you HAD that feature before!) more than a cute way to screw up my columns :)

Weebly, you are still the best!

It's 2014. How 'bout some responsive designs? My site's looking a little ghetto with the "mobile version," which is very...2010. Either that, or make the mobile editor independent of the full site AND add a tablet site, so we can manage not just our "full" sites, but also phone and tablet optimized versions (both in portrait and landscape).

FIRST MAJOR THING - most desired BY USERS are new quality themes but this team don't give a f....

AFTER SO MANY YEARS THERE IS NO DOCUMENTATION FOR DESIGNERS - what's there is what any of us could write in 1h time, you cant be treating this platform seriously.

How you expect platform to move forward if nobody wane be design for it, They know they gone be wasting time on getting to know the code, elements etc
This have a huge impact on popularity of the editor, no themes means no themes and plugins shops, no peoples selling or affiliating with them, no word on the internet etc.

I can't even think of any CMS that started without IT'S SO SILLY!!!
Ohhh but yea they change already existing features - something what you should never do. Anybody designing or developing anthing on any platform gone tell you the same thing. It creates so many problems, updating sites, updating designs... :(

How you can spend money on any ads if TOTALLY FREE ADVER. OPPORTUNITIES USED BY EVERY CMS OUT THERE aren't sorted for years.Take a look at wordpress jomla drupal shopify magento.... even concrete5, you can be reading about design development and best practicces for weeks! Weebly have 3 pages 10 sentaces each

SO BIG POTENTIAL WASTED OVER THE YEARS - if only they had this documentation they would have minimum 2x more customer = min 2x money = min 2x more popularity and so on

Weebly's support staff will not return any of my emails. I am new to WEEBLY and am extremely disappointed with their service so far.
There Chat has been down for at least two days. There was a small window yesterday when it was open, was told by Leonardo that their developers were having problems, that my issue would be fixed and I would receive and update...Not only have I not received any updates (or ANYTHING response whatsoever) THEIR CHAT IS DOWN AGAIN!!
Weebly is ruining my relationship with my client. Her big event is tomorrow and we have NO SUPPORT, NO RESPONSE, NO WEBSITE and we look like fools.
If anyone out there thinks I should discontinue this "Relationship" with/to Weebly, please let me know ASAP so I can make arrangements with a company that actually cares and who will RESPOND!!!!

Hi Elizabeth!

We have chat available from 8AM to 5PM PST; if you're unable to chat during that time frame it means that all of our agents are currently available assisting other customers. You can then wait a few minutes and try again or submit a request to us using the link at the top of the page.

In regards to the issue you are having, as our support agent relayed to you yesterday in chat our developers are working on it and will have it resolved as soon as possible.

In the meantime, one work around is to use standard image and text elements to add an image and description of your product; you could then use a button element to link to the product page for the product (when making links you can choose the store option and then choose the product).

If you have further questions feel free to send our support team a request or get in touch with them again via live chat.

I have used Weebly for years, but it does lack some of the Wordpress functionality and how Google reads the sites. Some attention to SEO would help as with moving the ecommerce to the designer option.

But it's getting better.

At first I found the new Spacer/Column Builder awkward to use. But I got the hang of it and I think it is a very good improvement. It is one of those somewhat subtle improvements that makes a difference as you work with it more. I would recommend keeping BOTH the old column element and the new Spacer. Would there be some technical reasons why you could not keep both? I think they can complement each other. Ultimately, I really like it and see what the benefits are. You have to use it some to really "get it."

THE BIGGEST new development for some of us would be as Damian said, "Not having the column element is fine but we need a, say, 'box' element where we can drag and drop multiple elements and then copy this 'box' across pages. Then inside such a 'box' your new column building would work great."

I would vote for both options to be available since so much is riding on each.
AND add the ability to "group" or "box" elements (and text formating!!!!) and move it within same page, or a different page on same site, or even copy and paste into a "same coded" similar but different site (using identical code).
Such flexibilities would make Weebly unstoppable for me! I would have to tell all my friends and their friends about how powerful Weebly continues to be.

Yeah from someone who isnt experienced with website building. the new Column feature will save me a huge amount of fiddling around time. I can now just copy and past or simply type in the info and add or delete columns as needed
on my next wish list is more personalized e commerce functions. I want it to look different than others not the same.

I've been using Weebly for years. I prefer them over most. The only thing that really annoys me sometimes is that they have yet to produce a way for people to create a profile/membership with your site. I am happy and appreciate the new change, but like the others said, webs, wix, etc all have the membership function where as we don't... Still Waiting

BUT would it be possible to have option to put a picture behind the text? This would solve so many of my problems on various sites...

I've had nothing but trouble since they started tinkering with things. My site has not been working correctly for several weeks. Again today, I added things, posted (at least it said so), and nothing posted. The old stuff kept showing up.
What good are new columns if nothing works? I'm very dissatisfed. My website is for an organization that expects it to be kept updated.
