Goodbye Blank Pages. Hello Page Layouts.

Blank pages are intimidating, but today's release of Page Layouts puts blank pages in the past with a whole new way to build beautiful websites.

With Page Layouts you can choose a predefined layout design that automatically populates blank pages with real site elements. You can then edit, delete or add new elements to build the perfect page. These customizable page frameworks provide both guidance and design inspiration, saving you time and making it easier than ever to create the right page for your website or business.

Page Layouts is available today, for all plans.

There are over 30 different Page Layout designs to choose from, covering a variety of different applications:

Flexible home, contact and about page layouts for almost any type of site.
Creative menu designs for restaurants and catering companies.
Service pages for business websites.
Beautiful portfolio layouts for photographers, artists and designers to showcase creative work.
Additional footer layouts accessible for Starter, Pro and Business plans.

You can access Page Layouts when starting a new page or site. The Page Layouts help article shows you how to activate and navigate this new feature. Page Layouts won’t prevent you from building element by element from scratch on a blank page. If you don’t want to use the new feature, you can simply drag a new element onto a blank page manually.

Good idea; can you describe how your idea would look? I'm thinking something to engage the visitors more - allow it to be more interactive than just commenting.

Yes!!!!! Magazine style layout for blog pages or something similar, or tiles, grid, mozaic - anything more than the layout now. I was really surprised at the lack of options with blog pages and hope something like page layouts comes to them soon. I've even looked for 3rd party templates but can find nothing that gives options like that.

Thank you for this awesome new feature. I'm still at the stage where I'm building pages and setting things up so this makes life easier. Not only that, the designs are both fun and creative. Also, I'm so glad that Weebly has been updating weekly. I actually enjoy the updates and the blog posts so thank you for keeping us on our toes.

Great, Weebly. Now this is what I call handy. Used it last week and thought it was awesome. Same for the footer layouts, those are so hard to make beautiful, but now so hard to make ugly. Thanks!

There's still no documentation beside few same sentences they add few years ago. I don't understand instead of creating developers market with community making designs they spend so much time and money.on few sets of elements that are available on the left anyway lol

I noticed it said you can browse different Footers, but i have looked and don't know how to do it?

Can someone help me how do achieve this?

To choose a layout for your footer, first remove any elements you've added there. Once done, you'll see a button you can click to choose and preview a layout. If you like that one you can keep it or cancel and try out another.

Excellent addition! We are already using this feature on our theme demo websites. Really makes mock ups easier. As someone mentioned, a developers market would be simply fantastic in order to let the community share website designs and other things. There used to be a website called Weebly Forums, something like that would be awesome.

I used this feature for the first time a few days ago. Excellent idea! When I was starting out a few years ago, I really struggled to keep a clean format, and something like this would have really helped. I'll be sure to make good use of it from now on. Way to go, Weebly!

Any idea how to get the footer layouts back after deleting elements in one?

In order to have the option to choose a layout for your footer, you'll need to remove all of the elements in the footer.

Move your elements out of the footer to the webpage or blank page. Don't delete them. Then when you're ready move then back in

It's great but I thjink we need more tools for blogging, I love weebly, I really do. But I think it has a really poor blogging platform, please we need things like Top Posts, Recommended, You might like to, and a better integration from blog to homepage.

You won't need to change themes, though you'll need to either add a new page or remove all of the content from an existing page in order to have the option.

Nice idea Weebly, although you really should be concentrating your efforts on fixing existing problems - like the exporting of sales orders facility via the eCommerce platform that still isn't working. Anyone with a business plan and is paying a premium rate doesn't have the full package which you claim to offer - this isn't fair.

How about making some new themes auto populate with these options like Wix has? Also- any chance of upgrading old themes to be responsive. Most of the new themes are too "modern" for my needs.

Thanks for this feature. Please add couple layouts for product pages. Right now, all product pages across all themes have one layout. It would be nice if we get to choose how all of our products displayed. This feature would be for all products and not per product. Also, it would be nice to choose whether images of products use zoom vs. pop up (lightweight) as in the Gallary element. Please Weebly, add these features.

This new page layout offering is great. I'm noticing that when I look at my site on my phone that all the spacers that make it look so clean and professional on the laptop are just huge spaces that don't really work anymore on the phone. t is just for non-responsive templates or responsive only on a laptop or desktop? I haven't looked on my ipad yet, but I know that many of my customers look first on their phones, so that is the most important platform for me. Thank you!

I like the templates but wish that the titles/headlines were not all programmed to capitalize every word in them.

Great solution! I suppose this option will come in handy for many webmasters. It's so cool when Weebly doesn't stop and continue to improve its website builder.

Awesome!
May i suggest two things that would make this featrure even better?

1. The ability to create a custom layout and save it for later use (Like the way you can save custom themes)

2. The ability to link these elements into a database
(For example. You select a page template. You click on an image element which opens a database menu and you can tell it to generate x number of pages with the same template but showing different images or content based on what you've entered in the database. This way you could have 100 pages with the same page layout but not have a whole load of html pages cluttering up the pages tab)

I really love this feature and thanks so much for continuing to make Weebly awesome :)
