Well, it’s been a long time coming. I’m very happy to announce that we’ve just rolled out a terrific set of new features:
- Most Exciting: Javascript-based elements. It took a while, and I never imagined I’d find so many different ways to crash both Internet Explorer and Firefox. With this feature we can now support almost any type of element — right now, we’ve added Google Maps, Adbrite Ads, MuseStorm feed reader, Badgr, and the Flickr Badge. Since adding these elements is now incredibly easy for us, what would you like to see next? We’re thinking Google AdSense, Grazr, and possibly Google Gadgets?
- Most Requested: Export to Zip. We had a lot of requests asking for this feature, and we listened. You can now export your site to a .zip file from the Site Properties menu, or right after you export your site. When downloading your site as a .zip file, the Weebly Network header bar is also removed.
- Least Exciting: Various Bug Fixes. We’re squashing them as soon as we find them, and you found a couple more that are now taken care of.
What’s next? On our immediate to-do list, undo and redo buttons for the text editor, a couple bug fixes, and theme options (such as the ability to change the header image). After that? We don’t want to give too much away, but think sidebars, more complex page hierarchy and more flexibility positioning things.
Keep the feedback coming, and, as always, let us know if you find any bugs.
