Business Networking in St. Louis
Top Events and Groups of 2017
Networking your small business in St. Louis is a great way to get your products and services in front of the movers and shakers of this city. Luckily, St. Louis’s business community is vibrant and active with networking groups, weekly events, and opportunities to make connections across different industries.
We’ve rounded up some of the best networking groups and events of 2016, with a little something for everyone. 1. Self-Employed St. Louis For freelancers, entrepreneurs and small business owners, this group is for you. Join lunch meetings on the first Friday of the month and participate in an information session with a roundtable discussion with newbies and established business owners.
2. St. Louis Young Professionals If you’re a young entrepreneur in St. Louis who likes to have some fun with your work, the SLYP is right up your alley. Instead of a working lunch or seminars, this group gets together to discuss business through engaging activities like exercise, bar crawls and more.
3. Fore Business Do you like to mix business and pleasure? There’s no better place to network than over a round of nine holes! The Fore Business group lets you build working relationships in a decidedly non-networking atmosphere. The monthly meeting includes lunch and golf lessons from a St. Louis-based PGA professional, and a round on the course at The Highlands in Forest Park. This group does have a cost ($39 per meeting), but that includes lunch and lessons.
4. Association for Corporate Growth Many networking groups cater to small business owners, but if you’re a top executive in St. Louis, this group can help you. The ACG specializes in networking for corporate executives over monthly breakfast meetings, with fees designed in a three-tiered structure. Members and top-level executive guests pay no fees, members from another chapter pay $45 per meeting and service provider guests (attorneys, accountants, consultants, etc.) pay $60.
5. St. Louis Tapestry In addition to networking with like-minded business owners, St. Louis has a wide variety of groups with specialized focuses. St. Louis Tapestry is one of those groups, with an emphasis on business as well as faith. This women’s group meets weekly, with business events as well as monthly social meetings and Bible study book clubs.
6. StartLouis If you’re launching a startup in St. Louis, this group is perfect for you. Their monthly meetings, held on the second Tuesday of every month at T-Rex, include other entrepreneurs, as well as investors and people seeking work within the startup industry. The meetings are scheduled around two speakers as well as “Pitch Practice,” an exercise that allows startups to tell the group who they are, what they do and what they need.
7. Women’s Power Networking: Coffee and Contacts Women-owned businesses in St. Louis are booming, and this group connects you with other powerful women through referrals. Membership is $200 annually, but you can attend three meetings for no cost before joining.
Networking is a great way to make contacts, whether it’s other small business owners or investors, in the St. Louis area. It’s always a good rule of thumb to try several different groups to find the best connections for you and your business, so check out some of the meetings above and get networking! |
