Use Square to Power Your Online Payments

Today, we’re proud to announce an exciting new integration with Square that gives you the ability to use Square to power your store’s online payments. You can now choose Square as a payment processing option alongside the current eCommerce choices. Square helps millions of businesses accept offline payments, and we’re proud to be one of the only website builders in the world that puts this service into your hands for online credit card processing.

Square payment processing is available for Business sites, and can be selected from Store > Checkout in the Site Builder. The transaction fee for Square payment processing is 2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction.

This integration is part of our quest to make selling online easier by increasing your payment processing options and improving offline integration. If you use Square’s POS system for offline transactions this is a great opportunity to unify processing systems across both digital and non-digital storefronts.

I was getting excited over being able to use Square till I saw it is restricted to business account only. I do hope you will open this option to everyone who has a store front. I would love to implement it with out upgrading to business. Thanks

AGREED!! I already use Square to accept payments outside of my webpage. I would love to only use one service to accept all of my payments. I don't make enough yet with my page to open a business account. Very disappointed Weebly. I hope you change this soon.

LOVE IT! Square is fantastic and a great tool for small businesses. I have been using it since day one. Nice to have it integrated with Weebly. Please just continue with the great partnerships... please integrate square register/inventory features too!

It should be available with having to upgrade to the Business Plan to use Square. I only have the Pro Plan.

What an other joke! Only for "Business" accounts! Why is Weebly anyway restricting to 10 or 25 items, when cashing in that 2.9% charges on top? How silly is that!
Having an online store, with out Weebly online-store and restrictions is easy as that, by just using Paypal directly, with an simple PayPal business account! Getting all the integration codes directly - and free! What silly idea, of restricting Starter and Pro customers, to 10 or 25 items! Wake Up Weebly! If you charge 2.9% per item, then you should allow even 1000 items, with an starter account!
Only "Novice" Weebly customers fall for your 25 Item "Pro" Web-Store!

While I love using Weebly, this is one of the strange items I mentioned to them when their e-commerce platform first came out -- if they're taking a percentage on all sales for lower end accounts, why would they want to limit what people sell? Same thing with restrictions on shipping and other features -- if you're taking money from every sale, give people an easy way to make tons of sales! Potentially this means making a whole lot more than the month cost of a Business account; and if it doesn't, then they're not big enough to justify a Business account. The percentage is a perfect balance for those with few transactions without the need for restricting features.

The 2.9% + .30 is the fee that Square charges for the processing, NOT Weebly. Square charges similar (slightly lower) fees for swiping in person, as well. Paypal also has similar transaction fees. This is completely normal.

Stripe and Square are both fully-integrated credit card processors, though Square also has features that allow you to process payments for customers in-person.

This means that if you've got a brick-and-mortar store in addition to your online store, you can use Square to handle payments both in your physical store and in your online store.

It is really good to see new features added to have a better Weebly. However, there is a feature that unfortunately seems will take a loooong time before launching: Custom Offline Payments Methods (COPM) for Stores. I have been asking for this feature for some time (for more than a year to be exact, since Weebly Ecommmerce was first launched, I even emailed David Rusenko) but no hopes...no hint that it is at least being considered to be implemented in Weebly Stores. It is sad as I really love Weebly since I first became a paid customer (5 years now), I do believe that Weebly is a superb Website Builder, for me: Weebly is simply the best in its class... But...I do need COPM because It is not viable to use the Payment Proccesors that Weebly has for my region: I can not use Paypal, nor Stripe, nor Authorize, nor Square...so the simple solution would be: The ability to create COPM. However that is not a feature that Weebly is considering to create in the near future and I have been waiting more than a year for that. I was keen, ready to buy Weebly Business Upgrade but it is pointless, useless for me, if I can not have COPM. I have chatted, emailed Weebly Staff several times asking to please consider my request...and the response: "Sorry, it is not on our list but you can put a contact form so customers can contact you"..well...a contact form is so different from having a real Online Store...I want to have a professional-looking online store not an amateur-looking online store. I know probably Weebly has not implemented this because it is not a profitable option for them, but anyway as a customer I hoped sooner than later Weebly would make my “dream” come true…But I think I have waited enough time, so now, I am leaving you dear Weebly (very sad for me actually- to do this) and I am going with my Online Store to another place...I wanted to stay with my site here and buy your Business Solution, I really did...but I need to grow up so I had to look elsewhere…something I did not want to do. Then for now: Hope to see you soon Weebly!

There are some other features that need to be implemented before Weebly can really stand as a serious e-commerce platform. They need people to be able to create accounts so you can access them on the back end, enter tracking numbers, and automate e-mails to them letting them know their tracking number. They need to be able to integrate with the likes of Mailchimp and AWeber so that customers can automatically get added to mailing lists. And probably some other things I'm not thinking of.

Their platform is Weebly-easy to use and looks great, and seems like it's developing in the right direction. I would love to use them for E-commerce in the future. But certain basics have to be met before that could happen. Here's hoping!

The signup is not possible online. Your app is larger than the screen and when I try to input information it will not let me screen down. I went to the website and it is totally confusing. I do not need a reader or anything else, just accept payments online. The whole signup needs to be explained better. Stripe is easy to use and not all this malarky.

I'm not sure but I think this fee is charged by Square, not Weebly. Looks like pretty standard rate and should be considered a cost of doing business.

Correct. It is Square's fees, just like all payment gateways charge processing fees.

Hi i have a business account and i am using stripe however i want to use square but its not available to me?? i have looked in my settings and checkout but only have stripe and paypal.

You have to disable Stripe and then Square comes up as an option.

Weebly and most other eCommerce platform ignore those of us who sell SERVICES rather than Products or Digital Downloads. Services is over 75% the US economy. When is one of these eCommerce providers going to wake up to the fact that many of us don't want to collect Shipping address, and let us turn off that feature? It's SO SIMPLE to do this. And it would make Weebly instantly suitable for a whole bunch of people with businesses like mine. Weebly are you listening?

75% of the US economy is services, and we're not shipping stuff.

We're making appointments, selling classes, and we can't sell those through weebly, because otherwise our customers will say "why do you need my shipping address? Are you shipping me something?"

Give us a check box so we can turn off the shipping address, but let us keep using your inventory controls so we can limit the number of people who sign up for various classes. PLEASE!!!

Bonus points: Giving us a way to disable the requirement for product pictures would also be nice, so we could provide a simple Tabular list of products to our customers (I don't need a picture for every day of the week, you know) This might be a bigger change, but letting us skip the shipping address should NOT be a big change.

PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND STOP IGNORING 75% OF THE US ECONOMY

Eric, I can't agree with you more strongly. You are absolutely right! I have been absolutely flabbergasted to discover that NO ONE, not even Weebly or Square seems to understand the services-oriented industry. An industry much larger than product-based companies.

And to add to your list of grievances, why can't these payment services be setup to allow for a variable pricing model? For Square, Stripe and others you have to associated a specific price with a specific product. Well, what if I don't offer a product with a specific price? My pricing model varies from customer-to-customer based upon the services I'm offering. All I want is to let my clients come online, enter the amount they want to pay and to submit that amount. How difficult is that? Seriously, when I talk to the customer services of these companies they act like they've never heard of such a thing!

And what about no-profits? How do they accept various donations? Why can't I enter the price I want to pay them and hit send?

AAAHHHHH! I can't even begin to express my frustration adequately. The service-oriented business industry is begging for simple solutions and NO ONE is listening.

Please make an offline payment option Weebly. It's time to stop playing with the pretenders and step out with the big boys. I will pay more per month for my site and store if I could accept offline payment methods such as direct deposit, cheque or money order. Charge me $100/month I don't care but restricting my trade is something I care about. Listen to the people Weebly. Open the door. Let's get this done.

This is awesome news! I am assuming that if we issue gift cards with Square that our customers can use them through our website if they are linked?

I just purchased gift cards that are through Square and they are so pretty and really make our shop look more branded!

I would be curious if someone can redeem a square issued gift card on our site if we link in our square account for payments.

I've been a long time weebly user and have done all kinds of workarounds over the past few years. I use MemberMoose to take one time and recurring payments and link directly out of weebly and have been happy with it (long before the store options came along).

I have contacted Weebly support and after waiting 3 days I had a email from the support team stating that if I still need support to contact them. Can anyone help as this is very frustrating?
