Weebly is proud to support creative entrepreneurs who are taking the leap on their ideas and have the courage to start their own business. But what about all the soon-to-be businesses? The makers, artists and side hustlers who are working on the next wave of small businesses. The ones that are just getting started, or are still looking for the inspiration and support to take that next step. The ones making the jade earrings, gluten free dog-treats, restored loveseats and small batch nut-butters that we WILL love.
Today, we’re announcing a new nationwide initiative to go from URL to IRL (in real life) with an event series that starts May 2018. We’re helping all those Makers become Merchants and getting them one step closer to turning their great idea or unique product into a thriving small business.
Our Makers to Merchants series kicks off in Nashville,Tennessee with a series of events to bring the community together to swap strategies, share ideas and get inspired. We’re taking over the WeWork in East Nashville for four days to celebrate the daunting (but exciting) journey they're on and to motivate those creative entrepreneurs who are still thinking “Can I do this?”
Our workshops during the day will help with the nitty gritty: free professional product photography, marketing 101 and 1:1 support from Weebly and Square to start selling online. Each night we are striking up lively conversations led by our VP of Brand, Alexis Contos, Chris Guillebeau - author and podcast host of The Side Hustle School, and Mike Lewis - author and podcast host of When to Jump. You’ll hear how Weebly customer, Kelsey Kelley, paid off all of her students loans after starting a watercolor business born from being broke. Or how musicians Drew and Ellie Holcomb side hustled their music careers while holding down full time jobs before they made it big. We’ve also got the co-founders of StyleBlueprint ready to dish how they turned their casual blog into an influential digital media company across the Southeast.
We know you can’t all make it to Nashville, but you can join in live on our Facebook page May 8th, 9th and 10th to get in on the conversations. Plus, follow us on Instagram this month as we take you along for the journey and feature our makers and creators in Music City.
Oh and the best part is? The whole series is FREE. After all, this is not about our business, it’s about yours.
Can’t wait to meet you,
The Weebly Team
P.S. Where should we go next? Tell us in the comments!
