These features are great. Well done.

As a designer platform and Pro customer of over 5 years I would appreciate an ETA. You make most of your money from me with my DP each month, and I don't have the full features and apps available to others. It doesn't make sense to me. I can build more sites for clients if I have the full tools at my disposal. My user interface has looked the same for over 4 years now. I seem to have missed Carbon altogether.

Sections are available for all of our newer responsive themes. If you have an older theme or a custom theme, try switching to a standard theme to check them out!

My shop needs to be able to apply 3 different tax rates, -product dependent. As in, I need to be able to charge: 2.5% on Groceries/Food and 6% on Retail, and eventually I will need to add a separate sales tax on Dining. Weebly, PLEASE add the ability to assign tax rates by individual product !!! If it already exists, but I've overlooked it, please guide me. Thanks!!

I already have the business plan. I would like to have the Cart Abandonment option but it says its an upgrade and that I have to pay $29 per month for it. I already pay $29 per month for the business plan is this an additional $29 for this particular feature?

I have the same issue only with gift cards. I've been asking for gift cards to be available and finally they are, but I have to pay an additional $29 a month and upgrade to the Performance plan. I don't need or want anything else offered with the Performance plan. Not happy. I think that these should be offered as individual add ons. I'd be fine with paying a small fee each month to have gift cards.

Two features we'd love to see added to Weebly 4:

1) Reveal of text or buttons in the header (just like Wordpress sites). This level of animation will increase time spent on the site and attracts clients to certain parts of the site. The "number counter" plugin you guys added was great for this and we LOVE using that one. Having the ability to do a text reveal or animation in the header would be a HUGE plus!

2) HEADER SLIDESHOW - We couldn't find any new headers that allowed for a button to flip to the next header. In other words, Weebly 4 seemed to be confined to one header as opposed to allowing the visitor to flip through various headers/photos/videos by way of a navigation arrow.

Overall, we REALLY appreciate the section feature and video header. You guys rock!

I believe for your # 2 question you will have to purchase templates from individual vendors. These vendors will have templates with header features that you like. I believe Weebly intentionally doesn't create templates with header sliders. Maybe they have some sort of deal with these individual vendors. Personally, I think it's a good deal for the vendors. If Weebly offered you everything you needed you wouldn't need the vendors. So, here are the vendors I've purchased templates from
1. www.webfirethemes.com (best in customer service)
2. www.baamboostudio.com (above average combination of customer service / themes)
3. www.luminousthemes.com (best in themes / not the best at timely response).
Now, I'll let you decide what's more important to you.

I have purchased third party themes before but the problem is that modifying them was (at least at that time) something you had to do by modifying HTML codes instead of using the drag and drop nature of Weebly. So, while there are plenty of Weebly Themes that have a header carousel option, I don't think I (or anyone else) is being unreasonable by asking Weebly to come out with a feature that most (I think ALL) other website builders already have. I wholeheartedly believe that they are in this to make the best features possible and their dedicated team has (repeatedly) come out with features that knocked out the need for third party apps. Yes, I agree with you that they don't come out with SOME stuff so they have a constant influx of new apps into their third party market, but a website header that rotates seriously is not something I will buy because I expect that to be a feature that a pro account will eventually have.

I have purchased themes from the first two sites you listed but in the end, I'd like to use Weebly for its inherent functionality and hope that my comments and feature requests don't fall by the waist side through this blog. After all, I have been with Weebly long before anyone knew about them....back in the days when the user interface was in its infancy and I'd like to think (wishful thinking) that many of the features you all see today are there because of feedback we provided when Weebly was just a baby. :+)

Thanks Jackson. My website was made using a Weebly theme template from a 3rd party vendor Luminous themes www.luminousthemes.com the precise template is called Ethereal 6. This isn't available in your regular Weebly account.

You have got to be kidding me. You finally get real time shipping, but you're going to charge an extra $20 per month to use something that is standard on most other sites (Etsy etc..) If you want to charge your costumers more by offering additional fees for a "Marketing Plus" plan, be my guest. But real time shipping is a basic business need. Charge more for advertisements and email stuff, sure. But don't lump a shipping calculator in with all that.

Confused about the parallax, it doesn't seem to do parallax. It does seem to fix the background image however. Can anyone clarify if they got their parallax background image to scroll at a different rate than the foreground.

No, it's not "true" parallax unfortunately. It's just a fixed background image. But true parallax is really dumb and inefficient because its extremely resource intensive, yet its only eye-candy. Parallax is dying off very quickly in web design. It's so 2014.

Great release from the weebly team. The plug-ins and themes these days have made the marketing tasks easier for the developers. Not everyone can design the website from the scratch. Even these days the developers are using the themes and plug-ins to make their development tasks easier and faster.

Hi, on the new header option when going Edit Background> Advanced and then attempting to save the header on Home page to all pages it does not work and all headers on other pages were blank and waiting to be edited. I have made all appropriate pages 'No Header' in the meantime.

For starters... this new sections functionality (aka. the ability to modify background color and behaviors) has been commonplace around the web, and there aren't many builders that haven't been offering it for at least a couple of years.

All the new features are cool. But I'm still a little disappointed because it just seems that with every Weebly release there's something left out, clearly defying good logic. While a slideshow can be added to the header area of any of the new updated themes, the Lucent was the "only theme" with an integrated slider, providing a most pristine image presentation. And it would have been an absolute game-changer in combination with the new sections functionality. Unbelievably however, not only was section functionality not added to the Lucent, the Lucent is nowhere to be found among updated themes now at all.

"Yes" ...Weebly's development team deserves some credit for this release, but it seems that some Weebly account holders just don't know what's good, ya know?... Basically cheering for anything. Newsflash fellow account holders: If web design was a race (and mind you - anything technology based is essentially), then as usual Weebly is in last place. And if we keep cheering on the last place finisher, do you think they will ever strive to win... ever? Absolutely not, they will continue with sloth-paced development, while continuing to be outpaced by every other competitor in the builder space... all while leaving out key components of sound web development that was well within their grasp. It's mind-blowing to say the least, but I've been following Weebly so long that I guess that I shouldn't let it surprise me, right?

Based on my experience, I'm of the mindset that the Lucent might just be the most powerful theme ever seen under Weebly's platform in combination with section functionality. So for the first time ever, please do something spontaneous and profound without months of future development, okay?

It's simple: Bring back my Lucent theme :(

Why do you people like image sliders so much? They're really old web design. Background video is where its at nowadays. Notice that most of the large companies no longer have sliders on their homepages. They are awful call-to-action and for some reason clients love them, until they realize how bad they are for their organization and business.

Perhaps you're right about sliders, that is - for 5-page websites. But for elaborate ecommerce sites (unlike background video) sliders can give visitors an immediate sense of navigational direction when "used properly." One of my sites consists of 100's, if not well over 1000 pages, so sliders are indeed appropriate for my current themes. Not to mention, that Weebly's system is far too slow when it comes to background videos. And trust me, I'm a marketer with a designers skill-set. The laggy video load times strike a blow to the 3 seconds we have to grab visitor attention, which is why my personal campaigns are launched on Fastly. On Weebly's system, background video is novelty at best, and (in their current state) something that I'll purpose not to subject my clients too. Regards

As a relatively new Weebly customer, these are very welcomed changes.

Seven weeks ago, we replatformed our site to Weebly from our prior host that we had used since 2003 and we are very pleased with the features of Weebly.

The one thing I noticed is that the blog areas lack functionality. I'm settle to bring this up because it seems weebly's goals are oriented towards marketing and eCommerce stores. Next update though, you may want to consider expanded functionality of your blogs. I am more concerned about the ecommerce side of things, but the blog is a great way for us to be found on google and bing. We currently use the page instead of the blog feature for several of our posts due to the lack of functionality. We would love to be able to put them all in one area. Either way, we're still completely happy with the Weebly services.

Our newer themes don't have these in the header for design reasons, although you can easily add them to your footer. Drag a text element and social icons element to your footer and they'll show on all the pages of your site.

What is the difference between the multiple varieties of the same theme? As far as I can tell there are only like 5 new themes despite all the different names. Also each theme has very few color options unlike older themes. Why can't each theme have 5-10 color options or best yet a color palette to allow us to choose a custom color.

I just updated my iPhone App and now I can't edit any of my blog posts! The blog editor is also harder to use than before on a phone (window goes right to edge of screen, making selection of words tricky)
Also, my stats are no longer updating properly. This sucks so far, although the new stuff sounds cool.

Why has the product widget has been replaced with the products widget with the newer themes? There are certain features that we become accustomed to using, but when new updates come you replace old features instead of adding them along with the new ones.

If you had an existing product element on a site prior to the upgrades, you should see the old Product element along with the newer Products element.

The new element product element can be used to display a single product like the old one (or multipel products), though with many more options than were available previously.

Well I am not getting on with it at all! I don't know if its just me as i can't seen anyone else commenting on it but here goes...

-Why do my customers no longer receive order confirmation emails?
-Why do my customers no longer receive my dispatch emails?
-Why do I no longer recieve emails when someone orders?
-Why when i go to print an order is it coming up with the front page including all orders? So now instead of just printing, I'm having to change them all to only print page 2-3? wasting my time!

Cant see any benefits to the update so far! My PAID subscription is up for renewal in the next couple of weeks and i think I'll have to leave because I'm not getting the service i signed up for and have been enjoying for the last 6 months.

I think weebly (free plan) should have option to add and remove admins of the blog. So that anyone can easily transfer the ownership of particular blog or site hosted at Weebly.

The previously platform / Cart only told customers "an item in your cart has been sold" however it did not indicated which item leaving customers guessing. As I result I was unable to continue using weekly as 95% of my products are WYSIYG (what you see is what you get) and sold during "flash/live sales"

Does the new platform specifically indicate or note which item in your cart has been sold or is no longer available?
