“How’d They Do That” continues this week with a look at the sophisticated footer links Our Table created with just a few basic theme adjustments.

Every Weebly theme includes a footer area that can be fully customized with a Pro or Business plan. Using these customization options to change the footer into a secondary navigation source makes it easier for users to discover and digest your website content.

Our Table created it’s unique footer navigation in 3 steps:

Step 1: Drag text element into footer.
Step 2: Enter the page names you want to link.
Step 3: Turn each name into a direct link by creating text links.

This customized footer allows Our Table to explore multiple navigation levels without a pulldown, which helps unclutter key interaction points. The main navigation is allowed to focus on Our Table products, jobs and core values, while the bottom can display secondary (but still important) content like blog, events and contact pages. Together, the top and bottom navigation work together to allow visitors to quickly and easily access a site with intricate page architecture.

Good tip. Already had that on our footer. What I am interested to know is how they created that header/banner across the top. I noticed different graphics/words have different links. Is this part of the theme or did they do some custom coding on that? The unique header/banner across the top is what draws you into the site.

Noticed a discrepancy between this video and content dated June 17th and what happened when I clicked on the footer area on my free account.

I was transported to an upgrade order form which explained when I clicked on the starter plan that the starter package...
X Does not include footer customization.

'tis a bit confusing

was the footer customization feature previously included in the starter plan and no longer is

'or'

was the footer customization previously not included in the starter plan and 'now is'?

no bid deal either way, I am old and am on occasion, easily confused

weebly is a fascinating tool....excellent work

Hi! It's better to add "custom html" element into the footer and then, you can develop astonishing footer, by your own. You can add small pictures, icons, and format the text & links by your own.

Scroll down to the very bottom of any page of your site in the editor, then hover over where it reads "Proudly powered by Weebly". Click on this area when you see it highlighted, and then edit your footer.
